    Plaid helps you securely link your bank or financial accounts to apps you use to manage money, invest, and make payments. While the process is usually seamless, you might occasionally run into connection issues. This guide walks you through the most common causes and how to fix them.
     


    🔍 Can't Find Your Bank?

    If your financial institution doesn’t appear when you search for it through Plaid, it may be due to:

    • Not yet supported: Plaid supports over 12,000 institutions, but yours may not be integrated yet.
    • App-specific compatibility issues: Your bank may be supported by Plaid generally, but not for the specific app or function you're trying to use.
    • Unreliable connection: Some banks limit third-party access, which can block Plaid from linking accounts.

    ➡️ Tip: Try searching using different keywords (e.g., full name vs. abbreviation).
     


    ⚠️ Found Your Bank, But It Won’t Connect?

    Even if your bank appears in the list, the connection can fail for a few reasons:

    • Name Mismatch: The first and last name on your bank account must match the name on your GalaxyOne account exactly.
    • Incorrect login credentials: Double-check your username and password (case sensitive!).
    • Recent password change: If you recently updated your bank login, you’ll need to reconnect using the new credentials.
    • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) issues: Some banks use security steps that don’t align with Plaid’s system.
    • Action required by your bank: You may need to log into your bank account to accept new terms, complete a security check, or approve third-party access.
    • Temporary outage: Either Plaid or your bank may be experiencing service downtime.

    🛠 How to Fix It

    Here’s what to do depending on the issue:

    Issue Fix
    You changed your bank password Log in to your bank directly to verify, then try reconnecting via Plaid
    Plaid says “Action Required” Log into your bank account and complete any pending tasks
    You suspect an outage Check Plaid’s status or Down Detector
    MFA loop or repeated prompts Try using a different connection method (manual verification, if offered)
